Note from December 23, 2022, 5:00 PM
In some way, these last few days of preparing for Christmas are "antifragile." There’s a lot to do, there’s chaos, but the carefree approach we’ve adopted, or at least the one adopted without me, results in there being very little stress, and meanwhile we’ve managed to do everything we were supposed to do. Very strange. But it also gives hope for the future. Soon we’ll have two children demanding attention. Twice as much chaos as before. I was wondering how parents who have even more children manage to keep life under control… And where they draw any joy from, or the will to have more of those children. After all, when there are more, it’s also harder. More worrying. But maybe the key is precisely to worry less. Maybe instead of organization and micromanagement, you somehow have to adapt to the chaos and use it. Or maybe I’m talking nonsense about the lack of Christmas stress, because J. took most of the stress onto herself. I need to ask her about that.
